7 on 7 Observations (3/23)

Anthony Chickillo, Alonso High, University of Miami Commit

Jesuit High School (these are observation by Chickillo, but not direct quotes)

Every year this time, teams try to get a jump on the new season.  Combines are everywhere, track meets are weekly and the basketball players are just now getting back into the swing of football.  But, it’s 7 on 7 season.  Whether padded or not, 7 on 7 is a must for teams to start installing playbooks and checking personnel.  University of Miami Commit, Anthony Chickillo visited Jesuit High School last night to check out some of the action. This is what he saw:

  • Middleton looked pretty good.  While Hillsborough’s quarterback situation looked like it should be improved from last year.
  • Jesuit looked well coached yet again.
  • Richard “Rich Boy” Benjamin will be one of the top receivers in the county when it’s all said and done.
  • Plant was much more impressive than last time and they have a stable full of young talent.  Jesuit vs Plant, best on best, was the best match up of the night.
  • Tyler McCollum, rising senior from Gaither displayed some good cover skills.  Ended the 2010 season with 5 INTS.
