HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY RECRUITING

6-0/175 WR Tristan Cooper joins the Plant family.

The Plant Panthers have received a gift far before Christmas time. With the graduation of Western Kentucky signee, Austin Aikens and the inevitable departure of 2014 WR, Austin Roberts (Family moving to Indianapolis), the Panthers had a void to fill in the WR group. Dereck Mann and Alex Jackson return as the solid fixture in the bunch, but as usual, the competition level at the position is high.

Tristan Cooper, 2013, WR prospect from Baton Rouge, Louisiana: University Laboratory School has enrolled at Plant high. The 6-0/175lb receiver has been described as “A Baller!”, by one member of the Plant coaching staff. Tristan is the son of Ron Cooper, who just completed his third season with Les Miles and the Tigers at LSU. He was hired away from South Carolina following the 2008 season to coach LSU’s defensive backs. He has coached at the college level since 1983, with stints as head coach at Eastern Michigan, Louisville and Alabama A&M (ESPN.com). Cooper is now a member of the Tampa Bay Bucs coaching staff.  See Copper Hilites below.
