Why: Both of these guys show a pretty good foundation for success with the both of them sharing success in 1-on-1 match-ups, but in this instance it was the younger and much smaller prospect taking the other one to school. Jaaron used his long frame and quick change of direction move to get the Lakewood Ranch tackle rocking with all of his momentum moving in the opposite direction. What happens next is Jaaron clearly beats Sam to the inside and starts his one-way trip to the quarterback. The tackle was forced to react in a manner that would have resulted in a holding call if this were live action. The lesson? It’s about explosion and anticipation on the defensive side and technique and anticipation if you’re trying to stop it. Size again does not matter in this example.
