POLK COUNTY RECRUITING

2016 RB Prospect, Tyler King will prioritize districts

The 2015 Season will be here before you know it and for one of the top Polk County prospects in the 2016 class, the team success comes before himself. Tyler King, Fort Meade 2016 RB has the blazing speed college coaches like in a RB. He has the lean build and ability to avoid contact. He also has the unselfish attitude, understanding his role on the team. We did a short Q & A with King to get an update on how his offseason was going and goals for the fall.

Now is the time to step on the gas. How will you increase your production from last year?

TK: By hitting the weight room more, working out and just putting in extra work. Mainly doing a lot of running to keep my speed, listening and staying focused. Getting help from all the positive people in my life.

Are you the top RB in Polk and why?

TK: I think I am the top RB in the county, because I shoot for more than just getting the football from out the backfield and just running it. It’s about they keys that lead to that. As in, not being afraid of contact, having great vision, being able to keep my balance when running, being able to break tackles, being explosive in and out of my cuts, having good agility, and when contact is made, to be able to power through them and not being tackled one on one. Lastly having the endurance to take the ball up and down the field without being tired.

Lots of schools have taken notice of you. What schools are talking the best?

TK: The schools that are talking to me the best would be Kentucky and USF.

What goals have you set for the 2015 season and why?

TK: For 2015 I have set to take my team to win districts. I feel that’s extremely important because at my school it’s been apart of our tradition for at least 13 years straight, and that was broken my sophomore year. So up until now, we still haven’t been able to come out on top. So I feel if we knock that out this year, all the other things will fall in place [playoffs and possibly state].
