Every football team dreams of winning a state championship. Being crowned the best of the best in their respective classification. It’s not often a true freshman makes a significant impact on the teams success which lines them up for a state championship opportunity.

Nate Craig has been a big time player for the undefeated Pasco Pirates all year. As a freshman, Craig has accounted for 13 receptions, 195 yards receiving, 15.00 yards per catch and 5 receiving TDs on offense. As a safety, the 6-2 2016 prospect has 26 solo tackles, 36 total tackles, 1 sack, 4 INTs and 5 PD. Even though, Craig and the Pirates are moving closer to a team goal of winning a state title, “We take one game at a time and prepare for every game like its our last,” says Craig.

The Pasco Pirates are scheduled to clash with one loss Robinson on Friday for Round 3 of the 5A state playoffs and the BCP Game of the Week. Pasco has score 576 points this year. Six times this season, they have scored 50 or more points, while only allowing 60 points on the season. Even though they have been dominant, Nate says the way they get the job done is “We don’t get the Big Head”.

For the undefeated Pirates, Nate Craig is second on the team in receptions and receiving yards. Tied for 1st with 4 interceptions and second on the team in pass breakups. The freshman is not receiving much recruiting attention yet, but it is soon to come.
