2015 TOP ILB, CECIL CHERRY COMMITS TO VOLS

Just watch the first 3 plays on his film and you will see why. Very athletic at 6-2/225lbs. Wants to take the ball carriers head off. Good feet in pass drops. At times, he is slow on his reads, but likely due to eyes in the background and not on key/read. Just a rising junior though. Well, he wants to do the same at Rocky Top.

Frostproof 2015 ILB, Cherry Cherry verbally committed to Tennessee. Plenty of time between now and National Signing Day 2015, But the Vols ties are strong with Cherry.  Read PolkCountyFootball article linked below.

…However, only one of those schools managed to receive the early good news that all were hoping to hear from the junior. Cherry verbally committed last Friday to Tennessee. He chose the Vols over offers from Florida, Alabama, Florida State, Ohio State, USC, Louisville, Miami, South Carolina and others.

Cherry was in Knoxville over the weekend to attend a camp and had the opportunity to take an in-depth tour of the campus and facilities. He said some of the highlights included seeing Neyland Stadium up close, the indoor practice field, and the academic facilities that were available to the players. POLKCOUNTYFOOTBALL.COM

Cherry spent his Freshman year in South Carolina and returned to Frostproof for his sophomore season. He says the biggest difference between South Carolina and Florida is size and speed. “My Mother and sitter lived there, that’s why I moved. South Carolina, they [players] are much bigger and Florida got speed,” says Cherry.

Last season Cecil totaled 58 solo tackles and 96 total tackles (See stats here). 10 solo tackles in back to back games vs Tenoroc and Lakeland Christian.
