Scouser. You just got your wish. Hicks & Gillette have put The Dreds up for sale. This could be the end of YOUR source of frustration. If they could only take a train 20 minutes East to their Lancanshire rivals now.....
OK that did it! RELEASE THE KRACKENNNNN.................
Heaven
Once upon a time in the Kingdom of Heaven, God went missing for six days. Eventually, the Archangel Gabriel found him, resting on the seventh day. He inquired of God, "Where have you been?" God sighed a deep sigh of satisfaction and proudly pointed downwards through the clouds, "Look Gabriel, look what I've made." Archangel Gabriel looked puzzled and said, "What is it?" "It's a planet," replied God, "and I've put Life on it. I'm going to call it Earth and it's going to be a great place of balance." "Balance?" inquired Gabriel, still confused. God explained, pointing to different parts of Earth, "For example, North America will be a place of great opportunity and wealth while South America is going to be poor. Over there I've placed a continent of white people and over there is a continent of black people.," God continued, pointing to different countries. "This one will be extremely hot and arid while this one will be very cold and covered in ice." The Archangel, impressed by God's work, then pointed to a small populated area in the land of Great Britain and said "What's that?" "Ah," said God. "That's Merseyside, the most glorious place on Earth. There's a beautiful river, glorious parks, and buildings, great music and world dominating football teams. The people from Liverpool are going to be modest, intelligent and humorous and they're going to be found traveling the worldas expatriats. They'll be extremely sociable, hard-working and high-achieving, and they will be known throughout the world as diplomats and carriers of peace." Gabriel gasped in wonder and admiration but then proclaimed, "What about balance, God? You said there will be balance!" God replied wisely, "Wait until you see the lazy, arrogant, b'stards I'm putting next to them in Manchester."
heeheehee
And I thought you we're playing nice. That's not funny, and neither are you.

Big tip coming tomorrow in Spain mate! Will be loving the idea of playing for some hardware. Could, in fact, be a silver lining to a tough campaign. All starts with nicking Los Blanquinegros!

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL!!! Losing a poorly contested match (by all accounts as I did not witness it) isn't good. Down 1-0 and now going back to Anfield. Pictures of the lads make us look as we were just dog-tired and they took it to us. Wonder how much the 24 straight hours of travel, thanks to the Iceland volcano and UEFA's insistence the games press on, had to do with it? We had some great opportunities that either sailed just wide or hit the side of the netting. Including this little doozy:
Benayoun slotted the ball home only to be denied by an erroneous flag, as television replays proved.
Dammit. Oh well, what are ya gonna do now? This is ballacks. Gotta take it back to The Kop and win it on aggregate baby!!! Go Reds.

To paraphrase a famous Yogi Berra quote....I'm 100% half Scottish. Last name is Welsh, and the other half comes from the Irish Countryside....now listen...don't make me go all historical on you Mr. Penn State. The Mancunians and Liverpudlians dispise the rest of England which is why its humorous to see St. George's Cross in Old Trafford at times. It's also why you see tons of $$$ behind the scene shifted towards the Old Firm in Glasgow depending on your allegiance. There's a book you need to read. It's called "How Soccer Explains The World." It Footy and Geopolitics at its best. Google it.
Yeah well the Scousers and Mancs also seem to have a bit of disdain for each other which is quite odd and amusing to an outsider considering the 40 mile difference.
I have seen the book. Haven't read it. Do know that whatever the "global" community is or becomes there will ALWAYS be regional differences. Just like what happens here innit? Funny thing is sometimes it's just in fun and other times it gets a little dodgy. Add a little liquid courage and the tinder-box goes BOOM. Hey man, at the end of the day it's still gonna come down to "reppin your 'hood"! WHOYAWIT!!!!
ex.'s
Mancunian says he is: A fine person who was born in or currently resides in the most majestic city of Manchester.
Unfortunately, they live not 40 miles away from the utter bastard scum of Liverpool but in their brilliance, continue to prosper as the Capital of the North, even if the scousers come up the East Lancs to nick more tyres.
"Yeah I'm Mancunian you scouse c**t? Eh!!! Where you goin? That's right you fu**er, run away!"
Scouser says he is: Person from the greatest city in the UK, people are very friendly, city has more art galeries outside of London than any other city in the UK, oozing culture and class. The cities history is astounding, has two of the greatest football teams in the UK, very whity and intelligent people. Also famous for their world class Universities, medical and software excellence and the most vibrant music scene in the UK, possibly the world. The only people who have a pop at 'scousers' are those originating from less prosperous areas (See Wool or Manc)

On to the WORLD CUP! Should make for a fun month of summer! The WC is always an awesome display of nationalism and PRIDE! U.S.A., U.S.A.!!!!

I love it when a plan comes together! Where have I heard that before?! But I told all my peeps that they needed to pay more attention to what we did against Turkey. I was getting some very worried messages, yet I stayed calm. Get ready for the storm. I'm putting out a World Cup group by group breakdown this week.

Côte d'Ivoire's national federation spokesman revealed they are awaiting further medical tests but claimed Drogba could even feature when they kick off their FIFA World Cup campaign against Portugal on 15 June.
"He's not at all out of the World Cup," he told Press Association Sport. "He can still play. "We don't know if he will be able to play the first game - that depends on the verdict of the medical team. But he's definitely not out (of the tournament)."
Not so fast my friend! on Mr. Drogba. Does it really matter in the BIG picture. How big a splash will the Elephants make anyway. Bad for them though, honestly hate to see that (seriously!) Sh*t, he doesn't need his arm to play "footy" C'MON!!!

RAFA'S GONE, RAFA'S GONE........RAFA'S GONE, RAFA'S GONE!!!!!!!!!!!
And on another note, I am sorry to see Mr. Ferdinand out. That will be a tough tough loss for the Lions. In his stead comes an able leader in Stevie G!
Is June 12 here yet?

I wave my private parts at your antics Sir!..... And what else would you expect "Cote d'Ivoire's" Federation to say?! You fart on him and he goes down like he's been hit with a crossbow. He'll re-break the dang thing. Freaking Chelski Puff

I see your private parts and raise you with the aforementioned double salute
Of course I expect rosy reports from his own national federation but honestly, even the puffy dragon Chelski cannot lead the Elephants on a charge as great as Hannibal.
However, I am surprised at all the "stars" that will be out of action for this WC. That is a shame. The beautiful game will no doubt suffer.
Stevie G will do a fine job with the captain's armband. The Lions will be strong. The big, physical presence of Mr. Ferdinand will no doubt, be missed.
(BTW I am still having a tough time with the fact my family probably is from the Manchester area so
.....If in fact that bears out in my currently active genealogical pursuit, which it appears very very strong, I will then claim more stock in being Mancunian than even the mighty BCPIE, DHSDOG. Burn sir.

Shame no reply yet....However, I am fired up for this upcoming saturday. Will the colonies establish themselves vs the lads from the old country. No doubt the most highly anticipated game, and for good reason.
How about this thought: Stevie slots one through the defence's crease for Shrek and he buries it in the corner for a goal. What say you sir?

How do you spell the sound of vommitting? No reply yet, because I think I've got the freaking Swine Flu...well not really but you get the point. So needless to say sleep and disconnection have been dominant in my life the last 36 hours. Listen, I don't know whether the Tres Kitty Cats are sandbagging or they really are ready to lay a Kirstie Alley-sized egg and prove what a bunch of puckered up snobs they can really be. What's the saying? "You could shove a lump of coal up their arses and pull out a diamond they're wound so tight." (See Tony Heyward) But I digress....the Colonies will prove themselves just fine. So far, things have gone as good as I could hope for, and that will be good enough to shove it up their arses if they think they can just waltz out on the pitch and beat the little peon United States. Do you get a sense of angst and pride yet? You might want to stop asking loaded questions about this game and let me move on.

I'm on record as saying 5 points got us through. Didn't realize it would win us the group. England kiss my butt. Brazil flops more than Kobe Bryant going up for a 3-pointer, and that's embarassing. This World Cup has been silly. I wanted Germany not Ghana. Many, many issues if were not careful. Michael Bradley is actually my MVP....unsung hero of the squad.

For all you footy fans, I will be in attendance at the MLS All Star Game against Manchester United in Houston next Wednesday. Is there anything special you'd like me to ask some of the guys? (I've got some pretty good access to some MLS guys)...or if I can get to any of the Utd lads, the only stars not coming are Rooney and Carrick. Everyone else is on the squad. Should be a pretty cool experience. There are some local guys in the MLS that I could talk to as well.
