Tampa Bay Tech in 2016 9-2 under 7th year head coach Jayson Roberts earned themselves a District Champions along with another winning record. Major senior departures including LB Angelo Owens, Anthony Payne, Paul Tayor and current Florida Gator Dequan Green. How do the Titans replace the production at several positions is the tricky part?

The Titans will rely on a massive offensive line to protect Tennessee quarterback commit Michael Penix Jr. and open holes for Jaquavious Johnson. Penix is coming off his best season as a starter posting 2,078 yards, completing .562 of his passes, 31 passing TDs and just 1 interception. Surrounding Penix is an abundance of talent at the skill positions on both sides of the ball with Levi Jackson, one of the senior returners who was second on the team in receiving yards: 38 catches, 566 yards and 7 receiving TDs.

Penix, Johnson and Jackson better be ready to roll week one because the Titans open the season versus arguably the best team in the area, Armwood Hawks. Hawks have had the Titans number for a long time now.  Titans have yet to defeated the Hawks on the field since 2001. Take a look at the schedule below, not one game can the Titans slack off. Seven of their ten regular season games are against teams with a winning record in 2016.

Major college prospect, DE Jonathan King will spearhead the defense. Responsible for a team leading 6 sacks. Opposite of King will likely be 6 foot 4 inch DE Kareem Hernandez and 6 foot 1 inch DL Garly Ambroise. The defense will be fast and aggressive with plenty of upfield pressure from the talented from seven.

We expect another big season from Tampa Bay Tech. Can they win the district again? Four of their six district opponents won 6 of more games last season. No pushovers in district 7A-9.
