Timber Creek Dominates Boone: 30-7

The top 2 backs in Central Florida faced off tonight in a rain, soaked, muddy game which was tailor made for them. Jacques Patrick of Timber Creek a 6’2 220lb sophomore and AJ Turman of Boone a 6’0 205lb senior faced off but Patrick and the Wolves put on an impressive performance and won the game 30-7. Timber Creek led 30-0 through the 4th quarter until a good punt return gave Turman a short field and he punched it in from 10 yards out.

The rest of the night belonged to Patrick and the Wolve defense. The defense shut Turman and the Boone offense down all night except for one big run by Turman which did not lead to any points for Boone. He ended the game with 15 carries for 70 yards and 1 TD. Patrick on the other hand admittedly came into the game with a chip on his shoulder after being doubted and going up against Turman who many believe to be the best back in Orange County and all of Central Florida. The chip mentality worked for him as it did the Miami teams of the 80’s as he entered “Beast Mode” and ran for 239 yards on 17 carries and 3 touchdowns. During the course of the game he made several punishing determined runs.

Seeing this class of 2015 RB play is refreshing and amazing to see that he still has 2 years left yet he is already in another category. Being that he plays in class 8A, he will likely never have the yards of a Kelvin Taylor or Derrick Henry but if he keeps this pace, he will be one of the top running backs in the state come 2015.
