PASCO COUNTY RECRUITING RECRUITING FEATURES

The “Stover” is Heating Up

Grayson Stover, HudsonGrayson Stover walks the practice fields at Hudson High School as the largest, most dominating player with in a 5 mile radius. Standing 6-6/300, Stover is hard to miss. But are they?

Are college recruiters missing out on a really good college football prospect? Tulane, Marshall, FIU, and USF tend to think the 2016 offensive lineman will contribute at their respective programs and have orally offered Stover. “Schools that seem really interested are Rutgers, FAU, UCF, FSU, Virginia and a little love from Notre Dame” says Grayson.

Recruiting started slow for the Big Cobra. But has really picked up. Each of his 4 offers came this offseason and within a short span. Stover said “I think that someone finally pulled the trigger. It picked up a lot.” The Dream School is Florida. The question was asked, “Since UF is your Dream School, could you see yourself suiting up for FSU?” Stover’s answer “Yes I could see myself at FSU, even though UF is my dream school, FSU is showing a lot of love and I liked it a lot up there.”

Not many think offensive linemen go through high pressure situations on the field. But, what about off the field. “A high pressure situation I had to handle was the possibility of transferring schools. Just my coaches telling me where they want me. But, I know where I should be playing with other higher level kids and getting more exposure.” Sounds like a decision plenty of players go through at their own schools. Playing Time, film, promotion all part of the package. The triangle hasn’t changed, but the methods these days are slightly different.

Stover has been a camper and showcase kid and has benefited from the competition. After camping with BCP last year, we evaluated him in person and on film, rating him one of the top linemen in the area. Why? We asked Stover what makes him one of the better prospects. “What makes me the best lineman in the area is I love playing offensive line. I have been trying to be the best since my freshman year and still trying to get better. One huge thing I have, is my athleticism.” We agree. He is big, strong, flexible and athletic. Expect recruiting to increase for Stover. For now, it’s about self-promotion starting with action and preparation!
