The ‘Moore’ The Better

Tampa, FL – Earl Moore has a fight on his hands. A fight that doesn’t        include opposing Offensive Lineman or chasing down Running Backs  in  fear for their lives. It doesn’t include Quarterbacks for Breakfast,  Lunch, and Dinner either. The 6’1″ 280lbs Class of 2012 Defensive  Tackle is dealing with the fact that he may not be the most famous  sibling in the not-so-distant future.

This soft-spoken, yet immensely intense young  man (who happens to  look like he could maul you like a famished Grizzly by the way) is the  older brother to a quite talented young lady by the name of Camry  Moore.  She and her Big Bro are currently carving out a piece of lore  in separate ways at a school that has seen its fair share of successes off  the playing fields as well as on over the decades.

While most know about Earl’s exploits on the field as a 4-star DT that is plastered all over the walls of recruiting boards across the country, his younger sister Camry, 15, a Sophomore at Hillsborough is anxiously awaiting the first shipment of her very first book; a  300-page Novel entitled: “The Sun In Her Eyes.

Yes that’s correct. I said her own Novel. While most Fifteen Year-Old girls are busily planning what to do with their social calenders, Miss Moore has been steadily grinding away at what was a short story, now a full-blown published piece. Something she’s been working on since she was 12.

“It really started out as a short story, and then I said to myself that this needed to be longer.” said the very shy, but extremely personable and polite young lady.  She was laughing to herself at the thought having written a book based on teenage love, something she admittedly knew very little about herself.  However, she has been practicing for something like this for as long as she can remember.

“Ever since I was little, I’ve been writing short stories. I’ve always loved to write and to read whatever I could.”

The book is based on a young lady in her late Teen’s who has been dumped rather harshly by a young man also of the same age leaving her world completely shattered. Later on, she learns through another young man that her co-dependence wasn’t necessary and that he could help her find herself again. The theme for Moore’s book was influenced by her love of Sarah Dessen and her wildly popular work for young adults dealing with adolescent topics.

So is there a sibling rivalry? “No,” she laughs. “There’s nothing like that or anything. It’s just your basic brother and sister stuff.”  Although Earl admits there might be a SLIGHT competition between them one thing is for certain, there is no shortage of talent between the two something that Earl is quick to boast about.

“It’s very exciting. It’s a good book too.  A lot of people are going to be able to relate to this book.” Camry says that Earl is persistent about the content he tries to suggest for her writing. While her thing is relationships, Earl is more the action type. They both come to an agreement on one thing and that’s English is their favorite class.

The biggest obstacle Moore faced in the process of writing the book was something that usually seems to be the easiest yet is often the most difficult for writers.

“The hardest thing for me was the beginning and the end. I can easily sit down and write out what’s going on in the middle of the story, but putting the proper intro and ending to it is definitely the toughest.” Something that also was an obstacle for Moore was the often dreaded syndrome where thoughts would come-and-go before being able to capture what it was she was looking for.

“Sometimes my teachers would fuss at me, I would be in the middle of one thing and have to stop what I was doing to write down something that had to go into the story.”  Moore, who is quite proud of her Brother’s accomplishments may also be his biggest fan.

“I love going to the football games, the combines, camps, everything.” When asked about if she had a preference where Earl went she simply said, “I want him to go far.”  Their Mother Cherrie has been given extensive credit by the both of them for being the catalyst behind the scenes of their successes. She has done the marketing and representation for Camry’s book, all the while getting Earl to his events. Countless ones at that all over the State of Florida.  “She’s a very strong woman, she takes me to all the combines, the camps, basically everywhere I need to go.” said Earl.

When it’s all said and done, Camry seems passionate about a few things. Obviously writing is her chief talent, but most importantly, it’s her ability to serve as an influence to other kids her age and to anybody that might be experiencing the struggles of relationships. “I definitely want to influence and motivate other people my age.”

“I think it’s great that she can do that and show off her talents. I probably don’t have the patience to write a book. I have a creative mind, but I don’t think I could do it.” said the BCP #3 Overall Player for the upcoming season behind Armwood OT Cody Waldrop and King QB Greg Windham.  Although it’s that creative mind off the field that allows Earl to excel in the classroom, it’s his ability to mix-up his pass rush techniques keeping Offensive Lineman guessing for Four Quarters that has Division I Recruiters camping out on the front lawn of Hillsborough like some students at Duke.

Moore keeps it all in perspective though. Aside from an apparent  unbridled  humility when giving credit to those that have helped him,  he speaks about doing things for others as his focus. He knows that his  future is bright as long as he stays on the path that has been set for  him at this point. One statement says everything you need to know  about him in case your wondering. “I just want to help out my community, my family, and my  church.”

Moore undoubtedly has the ability to write his ticket to any  destination at a BCS Conference Program next fall, but that’s not what  it’s all about for either him or his Sister. “My Family has a lot of talent,  and I just feel blessed that we can show the others in my Family as well as other people what we can do.”

Well folks, I couldn’t think of a better foundation to start with.
