This was a great showcase of two great running backs from small schools. Robert Davis finished with 326 yards and 4 touchdowns as well as a 99 yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Toddrick Macon finished with 226 yards and 4 touchdowns and was backed up by Napoleon Maxwell with 141 yards and 2 TDs.

PLANT AT EAST LAKE

If the Plant Panthers have 9-lives, they surely used one of them in their thrilling comeback from behind victory against East Lake by tying the score at 21 with only 28 seconds left in the 4th quarter and winning in overtime 28-21.

GAINESVILLE AT ARMWOOD

Less than five minutes to go, down by four points Armwood’s season was hanging by a thread. Fourth and long inside the Gainesville 20-yard line quarterback Alvin Bailey was flushed from the pocket. He ran right, but was cut down four yards shy of the marker and the Hurricanes took over.

At halftime, fans saw both teams enter the locker rooms with just 10 total points on the board (Gaither 7 TBT 3). 8 punts combined and little offense. However, the second half explosion was priceless.

PLANT AT ROBINSON

In a showdown of the top two teams in Hillsborough County, the Plant Panthers knocked the host Robinson Knights from the ranks of the undefeated with a 26 – 24 victory, depriving Robinson head football coach Mike DuPue of a win in his final regular season game.

NEWSOME AT DURANT

This is game defined “Football”. During the Class 7A rematch of the undefeated Durant Cougars and the 8-4 Newsome Wolves, many had the Cougars as the favorite to win in what is considered a heated neighborhood rivalry. Their last meeting during the season, Durant won 38-28.
