Seahawks defeat Bulls

LAND O’LAKES – The Wiregrass Ranch bus with the starters on it got into an accident on the way to the game delaying their arrival and then the Bulls started slowly giving up touchdowns on Sunlake’s first three drives. Seahawks would use their ground game mainly (only attempting 3 passes) and forced key turnovers to win 28-13.

After an opening drive by Wiregrass that would stall at the Sunlake 27 yard line, the Seahawks drove the length of the field aided by two 18-yard completions to Tyler Peretti from Justin Hall before Hall’s 1-yard touchdown on a quarterback sneak. On Wiregrass’s next drive, Sunlake’s Bryant Beacham blocked a punt and recovered it on the Bulls 19 yard line and Kevis Warren would score from 8 yards out. After a Wiregrass punt, Seahawks had an 80-yard scoring drive highlighted by a 48-yard run by Kevis Warren who would also score on a 5-yard run.

Bulls had opportunities in first half, their five drives had an average starting position from their own 48 yard line but Seahawks defense held each time.

In second half, Sunlake’s punt team forced a fumble on a punt return and recovered the ball on the Bulls 1-yard line and Justin Hall’s quarterback sneak made it 28-0. Wiregrass then drove 56 yards, mostly on the arm and legs of Chris Faddoul, before Chris took it in for a score on a 1-yard quarterback sneak. Late in the fourth quarter after the Bulls forced a turnover, Faddoul hit Jacob Hill for a 4-yard touchdown pass.

Sunlake’s Kevis Warren had 10 carries for 91 yards and two touchdowns, Cris Galdos had two sacks, Bryant Beacham had an interception, block punt and a tackle-for-loss, Adam Jarvis had a couple tackle-for-losses, and Chris Williams had an interception.

Wiregrass Ranch’s Ryan Scamardo had two forced fumbles and a tackle-for-loss and Jason Winston had a couple tackle-for-losses and a fumble recovery.

Seahawks are 2-1 and Wiregrass Ranch is now 1-1.
