Robinson’s Malik Tyson

Robinson’s Malik Tyson is trending in the right direction and for good reason. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound QB for the Knights is entering his senior season having shown significant progress this offseason coming off a 2014 season in which he threw for 1,087 yards, completing 86 of his 190 attempts. Although he threw for nine interceptions, he still threw for nine touchdowns and did so while having to be mobile quite a bit of the time. Robinson’s arm strength is getting better along with his accuracy and if the Knights are going to make a run for the postseason they’ll need every bit of production he can generate for them.

Robinson went 4-6 last season, but finished 4-4 in the vaunted 9-team District 6A-8 that included Armwood and Hillsborough among others. This season, the Knights find themselves entering 2015 in a new classification and thus a new district, but with some familiar foes that have produced some memorable moments in recent years in District 5A-10.

Robinson begins their fall hosting Pinellas Park in their week zero preseason classic. They’ll open the season with three of their four games on the road when they travel to Blake, Plant and Middleton weeks one, three and four. Week two they’ll host Wharton. Their district play gets going in that week four match-up at Middleton.

Weeks five and six they’ll host King and East Bay before heading over to Westchase in week seven to face Alonso. Week eight, they’ll host Jesuit in a critical district game before going on the road the following week to face Spoto before coming home to finish their season in week ten against Jefferson, all three of which are district opponents.
