Over the years the Chamberlain Chiefs have had a roller coaster program. Success on the field has been slim and consistency at the top, head coach, has been inconsistent. Current head coach Jason Lane is the fourth head football coach in eight years to take the reigns after longtime Legend Billy Turner stepped down in 2008. Lane is establishing a work environment for his players resting on accountability, responsibility and dedication to each other. The message is being absorbed by the team starting with the better players.

One of those players is Javon Williams. A rising junior wide receiver blessed with talent and ready for a breakout season. Coach Lane describes Williams as resilient, high character individual. The kind of player a coach needs to spread his message, “One who never complains about playing time or targets yet earns a primary role in our passing game and playing time by way of determination.” If the season progresses in Chamberlain’s favor, Williams role could really increase.

Of his many talents and characteristics which make him a good player, He will be a players known for his quicks and soft hands. “Javon is sure handed and runs precise routes. He has the mental capacity to learn all positions at wide receiver and the football savvy to execute each position at a high level” says Coach Lane.

Watching him over the last few months at the BCP camp series, we would have to agree with Jason Lane’s assessment. 7 wins in the last two seasons for Chamberlain, five coming in 2016…the vision for Big Green football is bright with a lot of promise. Check out Javon below.
