PASCO COUNTY RECRUITING

Production Focus: Cris Galdos – Sunlake

Sunlake’s Cris Galdos is one of the most versatile athletes in Pasco County and the Seahawks are happy he’s one of theirs to say the least. His frame may “only” check-in at 5-foot-6, 170-pounds, but it would be one of the biggest mistakes you can possibly make to write him off based solely on his size. Galdos can play either wide receiver or strong safety, and he’s effective at both spots.

During his sophomore season at Sunlake, Galdos racked-up 75 tackles–50 of those solo–along with eleven tackles for loss, five sacks, four QB hurries, an interception, a caused fumble and a blocked field goal. Galdos also carried the ball 15 times for 152 yards as a freshman on the junior varsity.

His junior stats show the real story, though. This season, Galdos rushed for 41 yards on seven carries, plus 21 receptions for 224 yards and two touchdowns. Galdos also recorded a total of 74 yards in the return game as well. The member of the class of 2017 also managed to outdo himself statistically on the defensive side this season accumulating 81 tackles–57 solo–with fourteen tackles for loss. Galdos also posted impressive numbers in virtually veery other category for the Seahawks as well finishing the season with four sacks, six hurries, four interceptions, three passes defensed, three caused fumbles, four fumble recoveries and two blocked punts.

Galdos is the quintessential definition of “active” on the defensive side as the numbers aside from total tackles show it. He’s a very solid, fundamental tackler and uses his wide receiver skill set to his advantage when playing defense-as evidenced by the interceptions and then watching his returns afterwards on those with the creativity to score.

Galdos is an Xecutives invitee based on his performance at Ignite in January.
