Northside Christian’s Thoroughbred: Josh Snead

He may play for the Mustangs, but this prospect closely resembles a Triple Crown winners stride in the open field and appears ready to lead his squad on offense back to the playoffs in Class 2A this fall. Northside Christian’s Josh Snead stands at 5-foot-8, 181-pounds and that frame is more than weight-bearing ready for the increased workload that Head Coach Mike Alstott is ready to place on the young man who just recently earned an Xecutives invite based on his performance at the E7 Spring series event in Lakeland.  Snead rushed for 583 yards on 85 carries for an average of 7.0 per carry, adding nine touchdowns and caught 8 passes for 62 yards and a touchdown for the Mustangs last season. We mentioned Sneads’ stride, but he also possesses lightning-quick change of direction and is working on his pass-catching ability to make himself all-the-more dangerous for his squad. It won’t come easy to reach the playoffs even though Northside Christian’s district is just three teams. It just so happens those teams are the Class 2A State Runners-up, Indian Rocks Christian and a vastly improved Admiral Farragut squad. If the Mustangs get there, Snead stands a great chance at being one of those guys they can thank for the contribution. The Mustangs host Sarasota Out-of-Door Academy on Friday, May 15th in their spring game.
