Monster Night at the Trop for Chickillo

In case you didn’t know it already, Anthony Chickillo is the man. This is no longer up for debate. Tampa’s best Defensive End this decade just cemented his lore at Tropicana Field in front of a record crowd on Wednesday Night taking home MVP Honors for Team Click-Clack.

Chickillo was in his element all night; bouncing around, exchanging high-five’s and chest bumps with teammates and genuinely making things look easy. “Everyone’s a great football player out here and what’s even better is that they’re great guys too.” said Chickillo who is expecting a visit from his “new” Head Coach Al Golden tomorrow in Tampa.

Not all is signed, sealed, and delivered to Coral Gables just yet. Coach Will Muschamp of Florida has made the Bay Area Baller a #1 priority and it’s no longer a secret. Chickillo is taking it in stride though: “It’s been crazy the last couple of weeks. Right now, I’m just enjoying this moment with these guys. I’ll never get to experience something like this again in my life.”

Anthony finished the game officially with 4 tackles, 1 sack, multiple QB hurries, and a fumble recovery. That statline doesn’t even do justice to the impact he had on nearly every play from scrimmage he participated in. Off the ball he was shedding blockers and generally causing havoc for all. Anthony keeps everything in perspective like the mature young man he is though.

“I’m blessed to have this opportunity. I want to thank God, my Family, and my Dad for taking me out in the back and trying to block me and make me better. He can’t do it much anymore though.” Yes young man you’re right. Neither can virtually anyone else in the nation right now either. Not bad for a kid that just started shaving this year.
