PISCATAWAY, N.J. (March 23, 2017) – Rutgers University sophomore guard Corey Sanders will enter his name into consideration for the 2017 NBA Draft. Sanders will not sign with an agent.

“We support Corey’s choice to enter his name into consideration for the draft,” said Rutgers head coach Steve Pikiell. “The evaluation process will provide valuable information. It is in everyone’s best interest that he makes a thorough and informed decision about his future.”

Sanders will be able to attend workouts scheduled by NBA teams and eligible for invitation to the NBA Draft Combine, May 9-14, in Chicago. Players have until 10 days after the combine to remain in the draft or return to school, as long as they do not sign with an agent.

“I would like to thank my coaches and teammates for their support,” said Sanders. “My dream has always been to play in the NBA. I look forward to determining where I am in that journey, so that I put myself in the best position to get there.”

A native of Lakeland, Fla., Sanders was an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten selection by both the league’s coaches and media in 2016-17. He played in 33 games (31 starts), averaging 12.8 points and 3.2 rebounds-per-contest.
