Five Interesting District match-ups in Week 9:

7A-9 District Match-up: East Lake 7-0 (3-0) at Pinellas Park 7-0 (3-0), Eagles will clinch district title with win (would be their fourth straight district title), Patriots will need to beat the Eagles and also Countryside the following week to clinch district title. Last season, East Lake won this regular season contest, 42-12, clinching the 2013 district title, Pinellas Park finished as the district runner-up. Eagles also beat the Patriots in the second round of playoffs, 45-0.

7A-7 District Match-up: Gaither 5-2 (2-1) at Tampa Bay Tech 4-3 (2-1), Cowboys will clinch district title with win over Titans and Steinbrenner the following week (would be their second in three years), Titans will need to beat Cowboys and also Sickles the following week to clinch district title. Last season, Sickles was 2013 district champs and Gaither’s 14-10 win over TBT helped them secure the district runner-up.

5A-10 District Match-up: Auburndale 6-2 (2-0) at Lake Wales 5-2 (2-0), winner will clinch district title. Last season, Highlanders won 37-7 and were the 2013 district champs and Bloodhounds were district runner-up. A win would give Lake Wales their third district title in four years and a win for Auburndale would give them their second district title in three years.

5A-8 District Match-up: Tarpon Springs 5-2 (2-0) at Lakewood 5-3 (3-0), winner will clinch district title. Last season, Spartans won this regular season contest, 46-21, clinching the 2013 district title, Spongers finished as the district runner-up. Lakewood also beat Tarpon Springs in the second round of playoffs, 31-9. A Spongers win would give them their first district title since 2009.

5A-7 District Match-up: Hudson 4-3 (2-1) at River Ridge 6-1 (3-0), Royal Knights will clinch district title with win (would be their first ever), a Cobras win would result with three teams with one district loss including Gulf. Anclote won the 2013 District Title and Hudson was district runner-up. Last season, Hudson won this contest 26-16.
