The FHSAA announced its All-State Academic on Monday comprised of 24 student-athletes and there were four area schools with representation from Hillsborough, Pinellas and Polk Counties. On the list were two females and two males and by virtue of their distinction have been awarded a $1,350 scholarship. The four will be eligible for an additional $3,800 in scholarship money if they are chosen as “Scholar-Athlete of the Year” bringing that total to $5,150 in awarded funds.
In order to be nominated for the distinction, the student-atheltes had to be graduating seniors that played a minimum of two sports their junior and senior years in addition to having a minimum 3.5 GPA unweighted during that same time.
