Don’t sweat the ‘tech’-nique: Tampa Bay Tech’s Trent Wyatt

He may be entering just his junior season for TBT, however this young signal-caller must continue the excellent performances he’s produced in the offseason thus far. The Titans started out an uncharacteristic 1-3 last season before turning things around rattling off six wins out of their next eight games to reach the third round of the playoffs. Their mid-to-late season success was closer to their preseason expectations from the general observers since Tampa Bay Tech possessed one of the nations’ most dynamic playmakers in Deion Cain. This season, the Titans are looking to continue that momentum into the spring and summer and the results of the litmus tests could not come from a tougher set of variables as Tech will take on Armwood in their spring jamboree. The Titans will need to find the answers quickly in those two quarters of play on May 21st, then look ahead to the summer and their 7-on-7 season to help Wyatt build that chemistry on offense with perhaps two of the most potentially explosive playmakers in the county in Daquon Green and Isaiah Wilson. To avoid the repeat of that treacherous start last season, Wyatt will look to navigate a schedule that includes 4 out of their first 5 games on the road while facing their first four district opponents away from home. Although Cain shouldered most of the offensive responsibility on the ground and through the air in 2014, Wyatt is not without valuable experience. On the road versus Plant, he went 10-for-16, 149 yards passing and a touchdown against a Panthers Defense that was beyond ornery that evening. Wyatt’s footwork outside the pocket is starting to develop nicely (as witnessed at E7) to compliment an already smooth release and strong arm.
