Crawford: Still working, still grinding, attention on priorities

Jonathan Crawford, Largo 2015 ATH

Largo’s super ATH, Jonathan Crawford took a minute from his busy day to sit and chat with BCP. 5 simple questions with a few surprising answers. Jonathan is as mild manner as they come. Not boastful, very humble and under the welcoming demeanor, very hungry for success.

Over the years, Crawford has clocked a bunch of minutes, starting as true freshman and learning from several teammates who have been in leadership roles since he has been a Packer. Now it’s his turn to lead and set an example. Crawford is ready for the task, but what about those who still doubt him? He holds dozens of scholarship offers, plays multiple positions and has shown well at each BCP event he has attended. What’s next?

When asked, “Do you still feel somewhat underrated” Crawford answered,”Yes I do! But I don’t really pay attention to the stars or rankings. I know what I can do and what I can be. All I can do is work harder.” That he done. He has increased his weight and become more aggressive on the field. How has his game improved over the years? This is what Crawford had to say, “I’ve been training more in the past 12 months, more than I have in the last 3 years of high school.”

As we stated earlier, Crawford plays several different positions; primarily Free Safety and receiver. He is talented enough to play either at the college level. But which does he see himself playing? “It use to be Free Safety. But now I see myself playing wide receiver. It’s something I’ve liked since I was a kid”

Is it Largo’s Time? “We should have a great season. Coach Pascal isn’t taking his job lightly and he wants to keep improving Largo’s program.” Crawford will be one of the headliners on the team, but surely not the only that is expected to make noise this season. “Taj Taylor and Brandon Drayton, keep a look out for them! When I train I work with those two. Our secondary will be nice!”
