PASCO COUNTY PRESEASON TOP 5 TEAMS

1. Sunlake – No team in Pasco had more wins in 2013. Seahawks return a hungry offensive line, get back a massive defensive lineman and own one of the best line backing groups in the county including Austin Yeloushan and Logan Wolfe. Oh yea, RB Nathan Johnson is better than ever.

2. Land O’Lakes –Just missed the playoffs last season at 8-2. Pasco County leading passer James Pensyl returns with Kamal Wells and few new offensive targets. The defense will be a work in progress as several holes were left due to graduation.

3. Pasco – 7-4, district runner up is a down year for the Pirates. Arguably in one of the most competitive districts in our area. We doubt Pasco will be at #3 for long. Andrew Ivie, Bowman Archibald, Brandon Debyah, Tyree Austin and Jamal Mention are good places to start the resurgence.

4. Zephyrhills – The Dogs look solid at the skill positions with dudes like S Antwione Sims, ATH Jaylen Picket and LB/RB Loren Parker. The questions arise for Zhills, do they have the bodies to push around in the trenches?

5. Mitchell – edges out Hudson because of depth to start the season. Mitchell ended the 2013 at 6-4. Four L’s came to pretty darn good teams. This year, the Mustangs enter with a new offense, two capable QBs, one being Larry Dalla Betta, a powerful RB Deyontre Bryant and a good-looking offensive line.
