This young man may be on a team that’s had its struggles winning just three games in two seasons, but don’t hold that against this offensive guard that stands at 6-foot-2.5 inches and 250-pounds. Plaisted is a member of the Class of 2016 and has plenty to offer at the next level. Austin shows a great punch and active hands at the guard spot. He also finishes blocks with great form all the way through to the second level. He sets the anchor in pass-protection and keeps leverage using his phenomenal core strength to keep opposing tacklers from beating him with regularity as well as plowing like a road grader when in the running game. The schedule doesn’t get any easier for Jenkins and Plaisted as they make their way into Class 8A and into a district with 7A state runners-up Osecola and county mates Ridge and Haines City. Plaisted will get his chance to go against some of the state’s best players this coming season, so keep your eyes wide open for this young man regardless what the scoreboard says.
