Blake’s Dante Glover

The Blake Yellow Jackets have been hit with some tough transfer losses this summer, but that doesn’t mean that it’s time to stop paying attention to what’s happening with them. They have one of the most scenic stadium locations in the entire city, one of the best marching bands in the region and a cornerback that’s building his own island on the other side of the bleachers in the middle of the Hillsborough River.

Dante Glover (5-11/183) is an excitable prospect that’s been working his butt off to somehow offset the talent that’s left for IMG and Plant in Shavar Manuel and Juwan Burgess and is coming of a 2014 that saw him make 36 tackles (31 solo) while breaking up an impressive 27 passes. Glover also caused two fumbles and recovered two as well.

The Yellow Jackets are out of the insane 9-team district in 6A-8 last year and into another district in Class 6A. They’ve still got Armwood and Hillsborough along with Brandon, King and Chamberlain to deal with, though.

Blake starts the season at Robinson, then hits the road for three straight weeks. In that time, they’ll travel to Lutz to take on Steinbrenner then on to Progress Village to face Spoto. Week four, they’ll begin district play at Brandon. The Jackets come home to face Middleton week five on September 25th before heading on the road in consecutive weeks at Armwood and Leto. Their final three games of the season are back home with district contest versus Hillsborough , Chamberlain and King before their bye week in week eleven.
