Jahrvis Davenport, Robinson

Jahrvis Davenport (Robinson 2015 WR, 5-11/180 lbs) will be a name heard a lot this season. A solid contributor for the Knights last year; 12 receptions, 192 yards receiving, 16.00 yards per catch, 19.2 yards per game and 2 receiving TDs. He was 5th on the team in receptions and receiving yards in 2012.

This season Davenport is expected to be the primary target for the Robinson passing game. After a big off-season, we expect Davenport to be one of the top receivers in our coverage area.

He started the off-season with a monster BHSN/BCP Ignite Showcase performance posting big numbers in all the timing events including a 4.4 forty yard dash, 4.5 short shuttle and 9’7″ Broad jump. Simply put, he really opened eyes and we are keeping tabs on his improvement. “I think I improved most on route running from 7on7, endurance from track and being more physical,” says Davenport.

On month later, Jahrvis attend the BCP E7-Warner Training Camp in Lake Wales and blew the doors off that. Back to back consistent performances are what we look for. Players who show out not once, but multiple times. He along with others quickly became targets for BCP to market. Jahrvis says Iowa State, Buffalo, East Carolina, and Utah State are all showing an adequate level of recruiting interest,
“I’ve been in close contact with Buffalo, East Carolina, and Utah State. Buffalo and East Carolina came to one of our practices when we were in the playoffs and asked Coach Depue about me, and Utah State asked me about my track times.”

At the end of the day, an athlete has to be his own toughest critic. He must be self motivated and never satisfied. I asked Jahrvis to grade his off-season training, “I would give myself a B, because I know there is always room for improvement.”
