Land O’Lakes vs. Springstead

  • Land O’Lakes leads the series 15-14.
  • The teams have played each other each season since 2007 and Land O’Lakes has won 4 of the 7 meetings on the field. Springstead awarded two forfeit wins in 2010 and 2011.
  • Springstead won in 2012 and 2013 by a combined score of 54-28.
  • Both teams are mortal this season: Land O’Lakes 4-4, Springstead 5-3
  • Both teams lost to Mitchell and defeated Fivay. Land O’Lakes lost by 10 points to Mitchell, while Springstead  lost by 6 in OT. Land O’Lakes forced a shootout with Fivay, eventually winning 35-28. Springstaed and Fivay battled defensively. Springstead won 15-7.
  • Sunlake beat Land O’Lakes 42-14. But, lost to Springstead 6-0.

Plant City vs. Brandon

  • Plant City leads the all time series with Brandon 28-20-2
  • Eagles will clinch district title with win (would be first playoff appearance since 2011), a Raiders win and a Durant loss to East Bay would give district title to Plant City and runnerup spot to Brandon, a Raiders win and a Durant win over East Bay would give Cougars the district title and the runner-up spot to the Plant City.

Pinellas Park vs. Countryside

  • Pinellas Park leads the series 12-8
  • Winner is district runner-up. Patriots attempting to extend their playoff streak to four years and Cougars last made the playoffs in 2011.
  • Before Countryside lost to Pinellas Park last season, the Cougars won the previous 5 meetings.
  • The first meeting: 1980 12-7 Pinellas Park and then in 1981 Pinellas Park won again 7-3.
  • Pinellas Park won 9 of 10 meetings versus Cside in the 80’s.

Tampa Bay Tech vs. Sickles

  • Tampa Bay Tech leads the series 6-1.
  • Sickles won last season 35-8. Prior to that win, the Gryphons had never scored more than 14 points versus TBT.
  • Winner is district champs, if Titans lose then they are district runner-up, if Gryphons lose and Gaither beats Steinbrenner, then Cowboys would be runner-up. Sickles looking to capture their second straight district title.
