Lake Gibson is 3-0 with a rest week before hosting Palmetto (Miami, FL) next Friday. A big reason for their success is the play off the offensive line. Some preseason shuffling occurred at offensive line positions. But Michael Wiggs remained a fixture at Left tackle.

Michael Wiggs, Lake Gibson 2016 (6-2/270) says Indiana, Arizona, Kentucky, Miami, USF and FAU are showing heavy recruiting interest. The ACC, Big 10 and SEC are his favorite conferences right now. Wiggs attended Sound Mind Sound Body, Jimbo Fisher’s FSU Camp, Willie Taggart’s USF, Down ‘n Dirty this summer.

Below are the responses from Wiggs on a few questions we asked for a simple Q & A.

TEAM BOND
The hard long morning hours. Coming together with a common goal and that being to make it past the 1st round of the playoffs this year!

THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE, TOUGHEST TEAM
Winter Haven (10/3) will be a big challenge. They stand in the way of a district title (6A-11) and will be a pivotal game we play if we plan on making a run to the playoffs.

BECOMING A BETTER PLAYER
I think Ive made some improvements overall trying to be more aggressive and finish more blocks. Personally, I think my pass blocking has improved a lot. Im not giving up as much ground and I’m playing closer to the line of scrimmage. Not so deep, helping keep my QB’s blindside clear which is a big deal for me playing left tackle.

THAT LEADER
DJ Brown has really stepped up to fill the leadership role. He is a very vocal leader on our football team and as an upperclassmen who really likes to get after it, he is someone who all the players can follow on the field and brings a lot of energy to the team.

HIS BEST GAME SO FAR
Despite the score and stats, Kathleen was our best game because it forced 60 kids to come together and play as a unit to win a tough game against a great opponent. Defense played lights out with 11 guys and offense came out with a mentality in the second half that we were a better bunch and there is no reason they should stop us.
