Tampa, FL – So here is how the drama unfolded; With less than 2:00 mins left in the ball game, Victory Christian faced a 3rd down and long situation around the Berkeley 40 yard line. QB Caleb Lewis received the snap from the shotgun formation, moved around in the pocket and threw a ball right down the seam to a streaking Jaquarius Collins who dropped the sure TD pass. The Victory sideline dropped and the Berkeley sideline gasped.

On 4th down and long, Lewis would complete his pass to Cecil Cherry who muscled his way past the first down marker. But, the play would be negated due to a Victory Christian penalty and the Storm would be backed up even more.

Now 4th down and 21 yards to go for a first down, Caleb Lewis would again take the shotgun snap, evade a few tackles behind the line of scrimmage and hit Alvin Harper Jr. for a big gain placing the Storm inside the Berkeley red zone. After and incomplete pass, Victory head coach Tommy Lewis drew up a pretty screen pass to Jaylyn Mckinney that would hit on the Berkeley side of the field. McKinney broke a few arm tackles and carried two defenders into the end zone bringing the score to 13-14, Berkeley up before the extra point.

The Storm would line up to go for 2 to win the game instead of 1 point to tie. The place was rocking on both sides. Both fan bases were on their feet! Lewis would sprint out to his left, throw a rocket, but the pass would be intercepted by DB Chris McWilliams. (Video coming later today). That would do it. The ensuing kickoff would land out of bounds. Berkeley’s offense took the field and kneeled out the clock. Final Berkeley Prep 14 Victory Christian 13

Notes
Both QBs, Brad Mayes and Caleb Lewis had their moments. Orchestrated scoring drives and threw good balls in crucial moments.

RB Gordan Stetson hammered out some tough yards throughout the game and made a huge catch at the end of the third quarter to put Berkeley in scoring position.

Berkeley’s defensive line was the deference is the game. This unit neutralized the Storm run game and harassed Lewis in the pass game all night. Joe Schiano and Jon Turkel were special off the edge and Bo Peek pushed the middle.

Storm WR Alvin Harper Jr. made some clutch catches when Victory needed a play the most. An early TD reception and a big 35 yard reception to set Victory up to pull within 1 point.

Storm OLB Deondre Pride and Berkeley DB Addison Grams were very active defensively.
