2016 prospects to POP!

Raeshon Dunbar, Boca Ciega

Nate Craig at Tampa Catholic, Tavares Chase at Plant City, Shavar Manuel at Blake…Those guys will attract National Recruiting attention over the next several months. But besides the big names of the 2016 class, others are likely to emerge in a big way. The 2016 class is starting to shape up to be a very good one as is the current 2015 class. Lots of star power and even more important, DEPTH!

We have traveled to 25 practices since May 1st and have observed a bunch of talented prospects. But, there were a few in the 2016 class that really stood out. We still have more schools to get to and more teams to see. The goal is to observe 35 teams before the conclusion of spring football.

KELVIN BROOME, LAKELAND LB 6-1/220 – Lakeland lost two backers to transfer, but Broome stayed put. We first got a glimpse of this thumper in the 2013 fall classic versus Kathleen. Then evaluated his 2013 season film and finally got to see him up close and personal at E7 Warner Training Camp. He has the make up and will need to work on his lateral movement. But, the kid can “bring it” and has a mean streak!

JUSTIN ANDREW, KATHLEEN DT 6-1/245 – We came away impressed with Andrews after his freshman film evaluation. What we really like is his active hands and high motor. In addition to being able to flip his hips and change directions, Andrews will be a name you hear a lot. Will need to add weight and lower body strength, but he is just a sophomore!

JARVIS ROSS, LARGO ATH 6-2/230 – The kid will be one of the best-completed projects when the Largo coaching staff is done with him. A basketball player, taking the football field for the first time and doesn’t know what he is doing yet. Key word, “YET.” Dude is a man-child and one really good athlete. Once he starts to understand the game and his responsibilities, he will be able to play faster and dominate!

BRANDON DRAYTON, LARGO ATH 6-3/170 – Right now, Jonathan Crawford and Donavan Hale are attracting the majority of the attention at Largo. Next season it will be Brandon Drayton. Long, speed, soft hands and aggressive. Just wait! His time is coming sooner than later.

QUJUAN SPRADLEY, TAMPA BAY TECH DT 6-2/275 – The man in the middle of the defense sometimes gets over looked until he starts to make himself at home in the opponents’ backfield. I’m anticipating this happening with Qujuan. This massive defensive tackle has excellent upper body strength and good feet. He is 6-2 NOW. Could likely get to 6-4. Oh MY!!!

EXTRA 6, 7 AND 8
NATE DEMINT, PINELLAS PARK LB 6-0/215 – Can play either of the LB positions! Smart player.

PARKER LOONEY, JESUIT ILB 6-0/215 – Headhunter and better athlete than expected. Lots of leadership qualities.

RAESHON DUNBAR, BOCA CIEGA TE/DE 6-5/220 – Basketball player transitioning to the field. Athletic and long
