BAY AREA BITES RECRUITING

Zach Benjamin headed to Detroit for Adidas Invitational

Tampa Catholic wide receiver Zach Benjamin will compete at theĀ  “Best of the Midwest Football Showcase” Adidas Invitational on April 7th at the Pontiac Silverdome in Detroit. The Midwest showcase is composed of some of the top football recruits from Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri Pennsylvania and Canada.

Although typically a Midwest specific showcase, the Tampa Catholic junior was invited after the selection committee saw his highlight tape.

“I’m really excited to go up there and compete and see what the competition is like up there,” Benjamin said. “Hopefully I get my name out to the big schools like Ohio State and Michigan.”

Benjamin is an imposing wide receiver on the outside standing 6-feet 5-inches. He runs crisp routes, uses his body to his advantage and is confident with his hands. A member of Team Tampa, Benjamin was a force at the IMG Madden 7-on-7 Tournament.

He is also ranked as one of the Top 25 Players to Watch in Tampa Bay and continues to wait for his first college offer.

Benjamin, along with the other participants, will compete in three areas to showcase their skills and abilities at the Adidas Invitational. The tentative schedule pits participants in combine testing, position specific drills and 1-on-1 competition.
