Vincent Jackson adds Oregon, Oklahoma offers
The hottest commodity in the 2014 class picked up his 16th and 17th offers yesterday as Oregon and Oklahoma extended the 6-foot 3-inch sophomore Vincent Jackson a verbal offer, Tigers’ head coach James Harrell said during a phone call late Tuesday night.
There are still question marks as to where Jackson will play at the college level, but he says schools are telling him he could play as a standup edge rusher, an edge rusher with his hand in the ground or on the offensive side of the ball as a tight end. One thing is for sure – his athleticism and work ethic will carry him far.
“This is just crazy for me to be getting these looks from these schools,” Jackson said of his most recent offers. “I love Oklahoma and Oregon. It makes me think more about going out of the state; especially Oregon.”
Jackson spoke highly of Oregon and said that he has joked with teammate Travis Johnson, who holds 37 verbal offers but has not yet been offered by Oregon.
Jackson will likely hit the 20-offer mark by the end of spring ball and will likely set up to be the most sought after prospect in his class.
Current Offers: Auburn, Cincinnati, Duke, Miami (FL), Minnesota, Mississippi St., Missouri, Notre Dame, Oregon, Oklahoma, Purdue, Rutgers, South Florida, Toledo, UCF, Vanderbilt, West Virginia
